Wedding HELP

Planning a summertime, outdoor wedding...?
Mid South temperatures climb to OVER 100 degrees in June, July and August.  If you are planning on having elderly guests, they tend to "melt very quickly" in temperatures like these.
*Make sure you keep information, like this, in mind when planning your special day.

Question: If we choose Ministers in a Minute to conduct our service... Do we have to use your ceremony...?

Answer: Not at all.

Our talented staff has been performing wedding services of all kinds for over 16 years.  We are happy to perform your wedding according to your wishes, whatever they may be.
within good taste, of course.

One of the things, however, that sets many of our professional ministers apart from other "officiants" who do weddings is...  if you choose the Ministers in a Minute ceremony, our staff has the ability to"present" your ceremony, rather than "reading it from a piece of paper"; all the time maintaining eye-contact with you, your family, and friends.  Its a little thing...but It really does make a big difference!

Ministers in a Minute

Question: Can Ministers in a Minute handle my wedding rehearsal?

Answer: Absolutely.
Our professional staff is well-versed in wedding etiquette, and will be delighted to show you traditional ways to orchestrate your event; or if you'd prefer, can make suggestions for something "different".

Whether we handle your rehearsal, or you tackle this tough job on your own, its important to plan ahead to avoid pitfalls. With thousands of successful Mid-South weddings, we can help show you things that, perhaps, haven’t even occurred to you.

*If you choose to handle the rehearsal on your own, or if you'd like to prepare in advance...

Question: What forms of payment do you accept?

Answer: Ministers in a Minute takes all major credit
(and debit) cards
for all services except the "Option One... elopement special" which must be paid in cash (or certified funds) at the time of the service.

Contact us at (901) 754-4700 with your choice of credit cards, and we will be happy to arrange one of our ministers for your celebration.

Question:
Do you ever perform "non-religious" CIVIL CEREMONIES...?

Answer:  Yes.  We realize that sometimes with a "mixed religion" marriage, or for family, or personal reasons, some couples choose to have a civil ceremony performed.  We are happy to accomodate, and dont consider it a slight in the least.
Ministers in a Minute has been performing heart-felt ceremonies since 1994, and our civil ceremony continues to be, very well received.

"Michael and I absolutely loved having you perform our ceremony. My friends couldn't stop talking about how much they adored your personality, and how the Spirit of GOD just beams off of you. You are a blessing to all around you. There was a strong presence of the Lord in our home and everyone felt it.
We couldn't be more pleased and we will be calling again for vow renewals for sure!
Thank you again for being such a joyful addition to our special day"

Question: Can we incorporate a
"Unity Candle" in our ceremony...?

Answer: Of Course. Some Brides and Grooms like to incorporate the Unity Candle in their wedding ceremony. Having a special reading or meaningful song can also help to make your wedding complete.
The Ministers in a Minute Wedding Ceremony makes provisions for whatever might be important to you, as you begin your life's journey together
.

* If you're planning an outdoor wedding...You may wish to consider Unity Sand, rather than a candle

Answer part II

 Over the past few years
The "sand ceremony" has become a very popular alternative to the "unity candle"Many couples are choosing this option, especially in outdoor weddings where unity candles seldom stay lit.  Some folks have never actually seen the sand ceremony performed.

If you would like to watch a small video of how it works, simply click on the picture to the right to view our Orlando affilate (Rev. Ciola) perform this lovely service.

Question:  What happens if it rains at my wedding...?
Answer:
The short answer is..."We all get wet".

Having it rain at your wedding is not a disaster.  Many people believe that if it rains on your wedding day, its good luck.
Most facilities offering outdoor weddings, usually have a "rain plan" as an emergency back-up.
If you're planning a wedding in a park, or other typical "non-wedding" venues...you may wish to consult local weather forecasts, and be ready with umbrellas if they're needed.
The images below were captured on just such a day... While the couple was disappointed that their wedding had to be brought inside... Their minister (Father Ken) was able to inject humor into the situation, and the wedding went on to be just beautiful.

Question:  We are on a very tight budget.  We would love to have a wedding coordinator for our small wedding, but we just cant afford it. Any suggestions...?

Answer:
Unlike the way they look in movies, Weddings are complicated.
Your minister can help at your rehearsal, BEFORE the wedding, but when the ceremony begins... He's down the isle with your Groom.
A wedding coordinator is a very wise addition to planning your wedding.  Without important "behind the scenes professionals" your wedding could end up in disaster;
but as you say... some wedding budgets simply cant afford it.

Ministers in a Minute, in conjunction with our friends at Pizazz Services has teamed up to offer a practical solution to this age-old problem.

Question: How soon do we need to book our wedding ceremony?

Answer:  Don't let time slip away...
We have a limited number of Ministers and many people choose popular days such as Fridays and Saturdays to get married. We must book weddings on a "first come-first serve basis" In order to insure your date and time, book early.

The average Bride arranges for her minister, weeks;
if not months ahead of time.
Its not unheard of for couples to book a year in advance to make sure that their wedding includes one of our professionally trained ministers. Avoid the stress, and arrange for us to perform your ceremony today!

Its never too early to book your minister.

Question:  Do we need a microphone, and amplification for our wedding ceremony?

Answer:  "To mike or not to mike...that is the question"
Our staff is very comfortable with public speaking, and unless the venue is huge, the amplification of the minister's voice will probably not be a problem... HOWEVER, Many brides and grooms, in the midst of a wedding ceremony ... find that their voices tend to "shrink" if they're a little nervous.
If the venue is outdoors, its a very good idea to have a *cordless microphone, worn either by the minister, or the groom.  If you have an "indoor wedding" in a living room area, or similarly-sized area...You should be ok without one.  Remember...your guests will be in attendance to hear you. Make sure you speak in a clear and loud voice, so that everyone can enjoy your special day. *(Most wedding DJs have a cordless mike, and can make it a part of your celebration for a modest fee)

Question:
Do we need a blood test in order to get a marriage license? and is there a waiting period?

Answer:
Different states have different requirements, since we are in the middle of a three state area, lets take a look at your answer, based on each state:

Tennessee- No blood test, and no waiting period.

Mississippi- Yes, a blood test is required, and there is also a three day waiting period.

Arkansas- No blood test, and no waiting period.

Question: What is your cancellation policy?

Answer: Unfortunately, from time to time unforeseen obstacles come our way.  We will happily reschedule your wedding for no charge, provided we have 14 days notice prior to the scheduled event.
Cancellation of your wedding ceremony will result in a $100.00 cancellation fee, and must be done in writing at least 72 hours prior to your ceremony, or there will be no refund issued.

If you are, indeed, cancelling your wedding... We urge you to pray about this difficult decision . We will be happy to arrange a minister to talk to you, one-on-one, to help you in any way we can.  We also suggest taking advantage of our premarital-counseling program, to help you learn how to handle difficulties in a positive, constructive manner.

Ministers in a Minute can even provide interpreters who can "SIGN" our wedding ceremony for the hearing impaired.
